North Devon Aikido Workshop

If you do aikido, come and join us. Sensei Huw Collingbourne of the Hartland Aikido Club will be joining forces with Sensei Richard Small of Bideford Aiki-jo to teach a workshop on weapons and free-hand aikido in the Ki and Iwama traditions. Everyone is welcome, no matter what style of aikido you practise.

Aikido Weapons Workshop, Bideford, Devon

Next Saturday (27th June, 2015), Hartland Aikido and Bideford Aikijo join forces at a special charity Aikido weapons workshop in Bideford. This will give attendees the opportunity to explore Aikido and weapons in both the Ki and Iwama traditions. It's all for a good cause (Macmillan Cancer Care), so please come along!

Aikido Summit, Devon

Sunday May 3rd, 12:00 to 16:30 at Chudleigh Town Hall, TQ13 0 Chudleigh, Devon. A cross-cultural seminar with instruction by Geoff Flather Sensei of Banyu Hatten Aikido Yuishinkai, Richard Small Sensei of Bideford Aiki-jo and Huw Collingbourne Sensei of Hartland Aikido. A mixture of weapons work and empty hand taught by three experienced teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

There will be two sessions separated by a break with tea, coffee and homemade cakes! Please bring bokken and jo, and proof of insurance for non-BHAY/HA members.

NB: there is some forecourt parking at the hall, but it is limited, so car sharing appreciated.

Cost: £10 for the session.

Bideford Aikido Charity Event

This Saturday (Saturday, the 20th, 2014), there will be an Aiki Peace Week Workshop in support of Macmillian Cancer Care in Bideford, North Devon. There will be five teachers (one extra has been added - Sensei Bob Sherrington, 4th Dan, Traditional Aikido) and the topics taught will cover everything from ken and jo to knife defences and the application of yin and yang in Aikido and Daily Life. Everyone is welcome (either to participate or to watch), no matter what style or school of Aikido you follow. The poster is shown below.
